No Knead Bread

Now this recipe is not my own.  Someone told me about a no knead bread and that I should try it. I looked to Google for some help, after looking at more then seven recipes they were all the same. So I gave it a go and it was a great success. Now this isn't a light airy bread by any means, so if you want it for a sandwich, cut it thin. Have you ever sat and read what's in packaged bread before? The only thing it should read is maybe some sugar, salt, water, yeast, and flour. Period. I've been reading labels more and more lately and it's causing me to make more homemade things! Yes, even more then normal! Baking bread at home is not only easy, it's cheaper!  Give it a try

3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp of yeast
1 & 3/4 tsp of salt ( I felt this was a touch too much, maybe 1 1/2 )
1 & 1/2 cups of room temperature water

1. Mix together flour, and salt.

2. Get yeast ready, mix it with 1/4 cup of lukewarm water, and let it sit until it gets bubble and the yeast has disappeared into the water. Then add the yeast mixture to the rest of the water and pour into the dry ingredients.

3. Lightly mix everything until it forms a dough ball.

In a large bowl, drizzle a little olive oil to prevent the sides and bottom from sticking. Go ahead and swirl it around with a paper towel to get it all over. Pop your dough ball in, wrap it good with plastic wrap. I put mine way up top of my fridge for 12 hours. Basically before you go to bed, put it up there. On TOP not inside.

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees, put a pot that has a lid in there to preheat with it. While that preheats, turn your dough out onto a floured surface. Don't knead it or beat it up, just gently form it into a ball.  Using parchment paper or foil, place the dough ball on top of it and into the pot you are going to use, let the access foil hang over the pot. Cover it and bake for 30 minutes.  Take the lid off and baking another 15 minutes.

Now you can cut a slit in the top of the bread before baking to let some air out, I chose not to and it was nice and crispy, yum! Also, you can brush on a little olive oil once you lift the lid for the last 15 minutes. Again, you don't have to, just an option.

Once finished, let it cool! I know the temptation is there, especially when it smells so good! However if you cut it too soon it will get dry! You don't want that.
Enjoy!!!
