One puff pastry sheet
Marshmallow Cream
Powdered Sugar
Chocolate Sauce (syrup)
Freshly cut strawberries
Chocolate pudding (recipe below.)
Preheat oven to 400. Lay the puff pastry out on a floured surface. Cut three times, right where the lines of the folds are. Place one on top of eachother and cut two more times. Now you have 9 squares. Cut each one in half, so they resemble mini rectangles. Place four in a row on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool on a wire wrack for ten minutes. Once cooled cut each one in half, making six layers. Design your plate with the chocolate syrup. Place one piece of puff pastry down and spread on marshmallow. Place another puff pastry down, top with chocolate pudding, continue alternating the filling. Place the last puff pastry on top and leave plain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and place strawberries as desired.
I am sure there is NO easy, mess free, pretty way to do this! I have tried and tried again. I took four different sets of pictures before, sigh.......I admitted defeat! But honestly? They taste so good, so who cares!!!
Chocolate Pudding (this is not my own, this is an old recipe I got years ago)
1/2 cup white sugar
3 heaping tablespoons naturally unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups of milk
1 tablespoon of butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
In a large sauce pan, stir together, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt. Add in milk, bring to a boil, stirring constantly until you have reached desired thickness. Remove from heat, add in butter and vanilla. Cover and put in the fridge until completely cooled.
You can use Nutella, melted chocolate and or mini marshmallows as other options
