One cup of fresh spinach
a quart of an onion (about 1/3 of a cup chopped finely)
one garlic clove
salt/pepper to taste
one package of crescent rolls
one sprig of fresh oregano
asiago cheese (shredded)
colby jack cheese (shredded)
(makes four)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a skillet saute' the onions, garlic, oregano, salt/pepper, stirring occ. after about 5 minutes add in the spinach. Pour mixture into a bowl. Roll out the crescent dough. With one heaping teaspoon of the spinach mixture drop onto the larger side of the crescent dough. Sprinkle cheese on top. Grab the thinner section of the dough and place it on top of the spinach mixture, rolling until you get the form (above picture). Close off the edges and place on cookie sheet. Repeat for the other three rolls. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Feel free to switch up the fillings. Bacon, bread crumbs, different cheese and veggies. You can even use fruit!
