I grew up on these and now my son does too. We love them, fun little snack. The best part is you can fill them with anything you want.
I use Martha Stewart's really easy & quick basic pizza dough:

While the dough rises, I cube up half a brick of mozzarella cheese. I also use one package of Hormel Pepperoni.
I use about 5 pieces of pepperoni to one cheese cube, a little salt & pepper, roll them up and shallow fry them with olive oil. I don't deep fry, just enough oil to come up about half way of the calzone. Once browned, turn, place on a paper towel to rest a minute and serve.
