1 pound of the leanest ground hamburger you can find
1 cup of lentil's
1 cup of Ditalini pasta
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
salt/pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of chilli powder
1 packet of beefy onion soup
2 teaspoons of Slap Ya mama
2 stalks of celelry chopped
About 8 to 12 cups of water (depends on how fast/slow you cook it)
In a large stock pot add the hamburg, all the seasonings including the beefy onion soup and the celery. With a little help from extra virgin olive oil, brown the meat. Constantly breaking up the beef as if you were going to make tacos. Add in 6 cups of water and the lentils. I cooked mine on low for 2 and a half hours before adding the pasta. I added more water w/the pasta and cooked another half hour. Use your judgement, stir and taste test every half hour or so. You may need more, or less spices. If you aren't one for spicy knock down the Slap Ya Mama spice to one teaspoon.....if you feel it needs more then just simply add it! If you can't get this seasoning you can always make your own. With equal parts of the ingredients I listed before this recipe. Enjoy!
